Yeah, I’m one of those people who thinks this is an underrated Christmas classic. So I’m a little disappointed that you two weren’t as into it, but what are you gonna do.
I agree with you guys when you say that the characters are better than the story, but that’s fine with me. Personally I’ve always felt having good characters were more important than having a good story. It’s a lot easier for good characters to carry a bad or generic story, but much harder for a good story to carry bad characters.
I also don’t mind the animation style, but it’s also rare for a show/movie/special to turn me off just because of its animation style. Honestly, I find old cgi animation to be kinda charming, even the old episodes of ReBoot, and a neat relic of its time.
