Oh, the sound I made when checked the end of the previous episode and found out The Legend of Vox Machina was next in line for review! (Good thing I wasn’t at work at the time? LOL) My squeak of delight aside, I was so excited for this one that I couldn’t wait until my next work shift to listen to it, so I listened to it over the weekend…and then again when I returned to work! Like Joseph, I’m not a Critter by I still enjoyed the hell out of this series and have watched it a full two times through. I do kinda wish I had it in me to actually get into Critical Role in its original format or even just in audio format, but the episodes are pretty long and I have difficulty focusing and staying engaged with so many people involved. (This is probably part of why I was able to get into Party in Peril; y’all have smaller group that’s easier for me to keep track of without getting lost.)
Anyway, great job as usual with the review and discussion portion of the episode! I got to learn a couple new things I didn’t know previously (I had no idea about the thing with Tiberius) and I always appreciate it when one or both of you guys are super into what you’re discussing. Chris’ enthusiasm and eagerness to share on something he’s passionate about brought a nice bit of extra energy to this episode! And Joseph’s inner kid review made me laugh out loud. XD I think my only disappointment was that IIRC there were no mentions of personal favorite characters, something that I love hearing about from you both. (I immediately got attached to Percy, myself, because I’m always on the lookout for the most broken dude in any group, bonus points if he’s aloof/grumpy/socially awkward and is also out for revenge. Plus Taliesin Jaffe is also the voice of one of my favorite characters from the “Tales Of” JRPG game series – Eizen, from Tales of Berseria.)
So thank you, Chris, for making this one your birthday pick for this year! My week was a little better for it, though now I may have to get through The Legend of Vox Machina for a THIRD time… <3
