This Saturday morning, Joseph and Chris watched The Beatles, from 1965. This was suggested by…we’re not sure (again). Thank you, random stranger!

Follow the cartoon adventures of the greatest of the rock bands as the Fab Four get themselves into the strangest situations that always end with one of their songs being played. In addition, the band also features sing along segments that have simpler animation as the lyrics are displayed on screen.

While I knew this show existed all I really knew about it was that The Beatles didn’t like it and this show was the reason they didn’t voice themselves in Yellow Submarine since they assumed it would just be like this cartoon. I never heard that they, or at least John, had turned around on it so I always avoided it and never gave it much thought.
Now that I’ve seen it, it’s not as bad as I assumed it would be. I thought the Beatles themselves were done well in the series and I could appreciate the weirdness they’d indulge in, helped by the fact that each episode is only a few minutes long. I might watch more of this but if I do it’s not something I’m going to be rushing to watch.
Ultimately, I’d say this is probably higher up there in the tier list of celebrity cartoons, but then again that’s not saying much. I think the only two good celebrity cartoons, at least off the top of my head, are Jackie Chan Adventures, Life With Louie, and Mike Tyson Mysteries (the last of which is a parody of these kinds of shows).
