I was lucky enough to get a Wii when it first launched, and Rayman Raving Rabbids was one of the games I got with it. The game was just a bunch of minigames, where the story was that Rayman was taking prisoner by the rabbids and made to play these minigames and when he won a series of them they’d give a plunger as a trophy. Rayman would stack these plungers on the wall of his cell and your goal was to earn enough to forma makeshift ladder that he could use to escape.
When I played it I thought the minigames were fun and that the rabbids antics were kinda funny. So when they released a second game a year later I bought it. I played that game for about ten minutes got bored and then turned it off, and I never played it again. I just grew tired of the Rabbids antics and this one didn’t seem like it had too much of a plot like the last game, so I was just playing minigames and not really working toward some kind of goal. Also, a lot more emphasis was put on the Rabbids than Rayman.
After that, they were releasing a new Rabbid game every year (eventually they even cut ties with Rayman and made this its own franchise), just like Call of Duty and Assassin’s Creed, but I just ignored them. I know about this TV show since for a time it came on after the 2012 Ninja Turtles show, but I ignored it just like the games. Judging from this episode it doesn’t seem like I was missing much, just the same antics I had already grown bored of.
I never played either of the Mario Rabbid games, but I’ve heard good things about them so I’d be willing to give them a try.
So I guess I stand by Joseph’s theory where the Rabbids can be good if they have someone to bounce off of, and if they’re not the main characters.
Ahaha, well, I guess the streak of higher rated shows had to end at some point. I think the one thing that got me about this one was the extensive voice cast with some of the names involved, though. Like Bill Farmer? Really?? Not what I would’ve expected at all!
I only request this because of the death of Olivier Jean-Marie. And that it
