  1. While I can appreciate the lessons this show teaches and I got a few good laughs along the way, I just couldn’t get too into this cartoon. I think the problem has to do with Jacob himself, I just found him to be bland and kind of boring. There were certainly other characters I did enjoy like The Hooded Fang/Gary, Jacob’s dad, and Daniel in the time travel episode. However, they’re just supporting characters, whereas Jacob is the main focus on the show and just wasn’t as interesting or fun of a character to hold my interest.

I could compare this show to Life With Louie, as both about about a kid in a big family and their daily life where some crazy things tend to happen (though admittedly, the things that happen in Jacob Two-Two are much more outlandish). The thing that makes Life With Louie so much more enjoyable for me is that Louie himself is a better character than Jacob as his dry wit and snark were a lot more enjoyable to watch, not to mention Louie’s side characters are better (especially Andy Anderson).

Like I said though, I did laugh a couple of times while watching this show, like his mom’s frustration at having to do the dishes, the Hooded Fang beating up the Ref in that commercial, and I gotta admit I smiled at the dad’s dad joke in the time travel episode. Also, Gary’s head hitting the lights as he walked without him even reacting was a great background gag.

I also agree with you guys that the lessons make this a good show for younger kids, and even though I couldn’t get into the main character, I wouldn’t mind watching it with my nephew.

I’m ashamed to admit that I didn’t realize that Bret Hart voiced The Hooded Fang until you guys pointed it out. The Montreal Screwjob was certainly interesting, but I’d also add that the entire mid and late 90’s was an interesting and crazy time for wrestling. If you haven’t already, I highly recommend you check out the 20 episode documentary WWE put out on the Monday Night Wars.

      • Sorry, I was team WWF, but I will admit WCW had some cool wrestlers, unfortunately most of the best ones moved to WWF like The Giant (Big Show), Chris Jericho, and Eddie Guerrero. Still, I will admit that WCW had it’s fair share of wrestlers I like that stuck with the company throughout the war like Ric Flair, Booker T., and of course Sting.
