I used to watch this show a lot back when it was on Fox Family, but I didn’t remember too much about it. Most reviews and videos I’d see on this show hated it, and after watching the intro I figured they were probably right and just never gave it much thought. Then, over the past few years, more and more fans of this show started popping up and arguing that this show was underrated. So I was curious about revisiting it and finally seeing what I actually thought about it.
Honestly, I found this show to be very middle of the road, with no strong positive or negative feelings. The characters are fine enough, with Johnny probably being my favorite, but there’s nothing that makes them too memorable. The plots feel very cliche, but they get the job done and usually suit the characters well. The artstyle is off-putting at first but it doesn’t take too long to warm up to it. Overall, this show just radiates adequacy, and three stars feels like the perfect rating for it.
That said, I think you guys are cutting Nanette too much slack. It’s not just that she wants to bring more culture to the class, but she’s a stuck-up manipulator who thinks she’s better than everyone else and has to always be the center of attention. Say what you will about Randall but at least he’s actually friends with Ms. Finster rather than just using her for power, and I’ll take him over Nanette anyday.
