  1. I gotta admit, I’m gonna miss the old intro but this new intro is good to.

I never really gave much thought the reason Darwin was given that name, so I didn’t realize he was named after Charles Darwin either. However, I understood why as soon as Joseph mentioned that’s why he was named Darwin, so at least I figured it out instantly, unlike Chris.

I watched this show back when it first aired until the show ended and while I do like this show it’s not one that to memorable for me. It’s the type of show where I can watch an episode every now and then to get a quick laugh but it’s not the kind of show I can binge watch. Even now when I was trying to think of episodes I found that most of them kinda blended together for me.

I’m really glad you guys watched The Choices as that’s the episode I immediately think of when I think of this show. However, while you guys said that episode proved that this show is heartfelt and just silly stories, I’d say that these kind of episodes are few and far in-between while most episodes are more silly and comedy based. Now there’s nothing wrong with the show mostly focusing on comedy as I love a lot of other comedy based shows that don’t have nearly as many heartfelt moments, like Eek! The Cat, Johnny Bravo, and the Tick. However, this show’s heartfelt moments are usually really good and it made me wish they had a better balance between that and the more comedic episodes and moments, like Regular Show and Gravity Falls had.

I do agree with you guys that the family dynamic in the show was really good and the episodes that focused on that and had them work together were some of the best episodes of this series. The only complaint I have about that aspect is I don’t think they did enough to differentiate Gumball and Darwin as they could feel like the same character at times.

The artstyle really helps make this show stand out for me as you rarely see anything like it, and it allowed for some really creative designs. It still amazes me how well everything blended together.

Overall I think this is a pretty good show, but if I were to compare it to other modern cartoons I’d consider it to be lower-tier. That’s not a knock against this show, as I think it’s better than a lot of other humor based shows like Teen Titans Go, but modern cartoons have gotten so good that it doesn’t rank up there with some of the best.

I’d give it a four out of five.

  2. One last thing I forgot to mention, I listened to this episode on Spotify, because it seems like you forgot to include this episode on this page.
