You guys summed this special up perfectly at the end. It’s stupid and corny but I love it just for those scenes with Skeletor and the children. Without that part this special is just one big meh.
I wonder if Swiftwind’s line about the evil transforming robots really was them jabbing at Transformers.
I really need to get around to watching the She-Ra reboot. I’ve been wanting to watch it ever since it first came out but I keep putting it off.
You’re absolutely right; what’s going to keep us coming back to the special at all is the Skeletor portion. It’s just so quotable!
I was wondering the same about Swiftwind’s line. It seems like a competitive jab at Transformers, for sure, since the animated series had only recently come out in 1984.
You definitely SHOULD watch the new She-Ra series. It’s pretty great, and has fun redesigns to most of the original characters. Plus, Swiftwind doesn’t sound like he smokes 12 packs a day.
Thanks for listening to the episode, Michael! Hope you’re feeling good…or evil, if that’s what you’d prefer.

Well seeing as how Transformers had that resurge in popularity with those movies, I guess they got the last laugh in this case……but at what cost?
Oh I’ve seen the redesigns of most of the characters and I like most of them, especially Catra (although I can’t say I’m crazy about the hair on Hordak). Like I said, I always wanted to watch it but I guess it’s just a case of so many things to watch so little time.
Heh, I always loved the “I don’t want to feel good, I want to feel evil” line but I never realized it had become a bit of a meme. It kind of reminds me of one of my favorite comic book panels, https://imgur.com/YKaqaTH
